Hello there, how are you?

Busily painting away in the studio space...

I feel like it’s only been a hot minute since I was last writing here, yet my computer reliably informs me it was before Christmas. So, whilst I appreciate it’s April already, may I wish you a happy new year, I hope it has been a good one so far.

No doubt you are enjoying this glorious run of Spring weather we have been having here in Ireland. For my followers further afield, I equally hope sunshine has filled your recent days. For my own self, the prospect of longer days and blue skies signals the outdoors life returning. Afternoon and evening light hitting my studio, doors open and the sound of birdsong drifting in.

After all the excitement of Artsource at the RDS, The Doorway Gallery and then the usual December order fulfilling rush, I took a bit of a break from here, which sort of continued…

However, painting has been happening in the background, albeit admittedly very much playing second fiddle to the corporate day job which has been doubly demanding. But in as much as spare evenings and weekends have allowed, I’m slowly building up a body of new work. Some of which I’ve drip-fed on socials, but, being honest I’m more than a little behind even on this. My business manager Sarah, aka my better half, has been on my back to get more shared with you, so watch this space.

In the meantime, I have some exciting news to share with you! I was approached a few weeks ago to take part in a fabulous new pop-up retail and art gallery space opening in Dublin. The 59 Collective open its doors on Saturday the 12th April 2025, in the beautiful surrounds of Powerscourt Townhouse https://www.powerscourtcentre.ie in the heart of Dublin. I will be kicking off their artist in residence stint for the first three weeks. Not only will there be a gallery space for you to see and buy my work, but it includes an artists studio where you can come in and see me painting in the flesh at weekends!

The Collective is the brainchild of Muireannb Vintage and Wendy’s Way of Life, a daughter and mum powerhouse team, who wanted to create a retail and gallery space to celebrate the very best of Irish makers, crafters, creators, designers and artists.

As well as some new work, I will have a selection of new prints available, more on those to be shared with you soon. But I’m most excited about the opportunity to live paint and get to meet and chat with fellow art enthusiasts. So, mark the dates in your diaries: 12-13th 19-20th, 26th-27th April, and I hope to see as many of you there over the course of my three-week stint.

Some new pieces finished lately...

With all the doom and gloom talk in the news these days with wars, trade tariffs, economic uncertainty etc, has there ever been a time we’ve needed beautiful art more! Painting for me has always been my refuge, an opportunity to quieten my mind and be in the moment. Sometimes as I paint, magic happens! Other times, the magic takes a little longer to reveal itself, but I’m never happier than when I’m in my little studio with the incense lit and a good playlist or podcast on in the background. So I really hope you'll be able to join me over the course of the three weeks.
